DriveGain is a privately funded start-up company based in London in the UK.
The company was co-founded by Simon East and Dr. Phil Dixon in December 2008.
Simon East has worked with mobile devices and applications for over 20 years. He started his career at British PDA pioneer Psion and was part of the executive team that transformed Psion's software group into Symbian. Dr. Phil Dixon has a PhD in Vehicle Dynamics Control. He has developed and consulted on detailed offline vehicle simulation software, numerous vehicle driving simulators and racing games, and specialises in applying models to understand and control the motion of vehicles. Prior to DriveGain, Phil was part of the Renault F1 Team, as a Vehicle Performance Engineer on the chassis that won two World Championships for Fernando Alonso. In 2009 Mark Wilce joined the team as VP of Engineering. Mark has over 28 years of software development experience. He has run development groups in several mobile companies: Symbian, Visto, Cognima/ShoZu and OnRelay. He recently was awarded an MSc with Distinction from Birkbeck college in London. Dr Terry Lansdown (Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh) has been working with us to develop the user interface for our app, so that is it provides a simple, effective, and safe driver experience. Terry has been doing research to understand driver distraction for fifteen years. Previously, he has worked at both the Motor Industry Research Association and the Transport Research Laboratory.
